Thursday, January 28th
USC University Club - Scriptorium
Time: 4:30 p.m.
This is a Free Member Event – Must be a Current Member or Guest of a Current Member to Attend

How do we Trojans balance the interests of faculty, staff, and students in academic freedom and freedom expression against those of members of our family who find certain words and symbols offensive or traumatizing?  Jody Armour—Roy P. Crocker Professor of Law and Co-Chair of the Academic Senate's Campus Climate Committee—will discuss how he reconciles these competing interests in classroom discussions of rape, sexual assault, and race-conscious self-defense; in articles, books, and documentaries; and in newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet. This will be an interdisciplinary and multimedia discussion of one of today's most pressing issues in higher education.
